Τhis recipe for meatballs characterized by the not so usual choice of materials that are used for flavoring! There isn’t the most common choice for aromatic meatballs, but the result is very tasty and extremely interesting! Inspired by the traditional recipe of my place for sausage, which is delicious, but a bit heavy, I decided to create these highly aromatic meatballs! This way, I can enjoy a favorite flavor, in a pretty lighter version! You can fry the meatballs for most sinful meals! Nevertheless I made them roast … for the “healthy living”!
Grate the onion on a grater or alternatively grind in blender. Finely chop the leek and green pepper. In a saucepan heat the oil and pour in the onion, leek and green pepper. After saute a few minutes, up to evaporate the liquid and slightly golden, add and spices and orange zest to warm up and to release their aromas. Wet the slices of bread toast and drain well by tightening them with our handful. In a bowl, place the ground beef, the bread, which crush with hands, vinegar and mix of onions and spices. If necessary add some water and knead long enough to thoroughly combine the ingredients together. Finally mold into small balls and place them on a baking sheet covered with nonstick paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 230ºC in air.Meatballs with Orange and Leeks
